Both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are serious actors now, and in an alternate universe they could probably pay someone to wipe the memory of the Twilight films from everyone’s brains. But here in this universe we will always remember that garbage, so their only option is to acknowledge and embrace how corny it was.
KStew said a couple of years ago that she was “proud” of Twilight, because it’s part of her career. RPattz recently said something similar during an interview with The New York Times in Cannes to promote his latest serious actor job in the movie Good Time. RPattz says he really doesn’t mind that he’ll always be Edward Cullen to some people, even if you think he’s a sellout.
“I think one of the best things, basically, about being a bit of a sellout is if you’ve done five movies in a series, you’ve had to accept some responsibility for playing the same character.”
He must have been feeling nostalgic for the days of moody teen past, because he kept talking about Twilight. He described working on the Twilight movies as “an amazing luxury” and that it was “amazing luck” to have gotten along so well with the people he worked with.
RPattz also spoke more about how he almost got fired from the set of the first Twilight movie. RPattz admitted he was trying to act so serious on set that his agents flew in to tell him to stop acting like an entitled twat, or at least less of one. He admits he still acted like a rebel.
“I didn’t have to kiss anybody’s” rear end “the entire time. I don’t think I did, anyway.”
That imagery. Why did he have to go there? How is he supposed to move on from Twilight when he keeps giving the remaining handful of horny Twihards material to work with when writing their next chapter of Edward Cullen fanfic? “And then, he gently kissed me goodnight on my rear end.”
